I got asked the other day what motivates me to keep working on improving my health and physical fitness.
My motivation is gone, and I don’t need to rely on it..

I rely on systems and structure in my life, kind of like how pilots can rely on autopilot to fly and land the airplanes consistently.
I rely on not having to make very many decisions anymore since my daily habits are mostly decided for me when I wake up (hint: there are 5 that really matter).
I rely on the fact that my body just craves better things more often than not.
Yes, I go off course at times.
Airplanes do too, and the pilots can take manual control to get the plane back on track and let the automated systems take over again.
